Abu Dhabi International Airport recorded a 44.5 per cent increase in Duty Free revenues and a 16 per cent rise in passengers during the final Formula 1 Grand Prix of the season last month.
The announcement was made during a prize draw event for an F1 promotional campaign at the airport's Duty Free store.
Abu Dhabi Duty Free said that following the successful roll-out of its retail and food and beverage brand, Shop-Dine-Unwind, as well as the F1 promotional campaign, the month of November had been particularly profitable.
"We are proud of the success we saw with this year's F1 season, which goes on to show that we have continued to improve on our customer experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport," said Huraiz Al Mur bin Huraiz, chief commercial officer at Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was held at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday, November 14th, saw Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel crowned as the 2010 F1 world champion.
