England cricketer Andrew Flintoff has spoken of his "great new life" in Dubai and confirmed that he and his family are looking to set up home in the UAE.
Flintoff, who was made a sports ambassador for Dubai and who is also an ambassador for the international property development firm the First Group, arrived in Dubai in September last year to undergo rehabilitation following a knee injury.
However, Flintoff said that he and his family are now planning to settle in the emirate for the foreseeable future.
He told the National that he was enjoying the Dubai lifestyle, adding that he had been on a camping trip out in the desert and had spent most weekends at the beach.
The Flintoffs have been living in a serviced apartment in Festival City but are now looking for a villa with a garden for their three children, the newspaper said.
Flintoff, who hopes to be back to full fitness by August, signed a contract with the newly-formed Dubai-based company Falcon and Associates last month.
The company comes under the administration of the Dubai government's media office and Flintoff's activities will include promoting Dubai in countries associated with cricket such as Britain, South Africa, Australia and India.
