Dubai will be among the top five international destinations for US tourists next year, it has been predicted.
HotelsCombined.com, a leading hotel search engine, made the forecast after putting Dubai in its top ten list of US tourist destinations for 2010 a huge improvement on 2009 when Dubai was ranked 33rd, Emirates Business 24/7 reported.
The search engine noted that hotel room rates in Dubai are rising in line with growing demand. This year, an average US tourist is paying $227 a room per night while last year, that figure was $153.
Hichame Assi, head of strategy and online marketing at HotelsCombined.com, told the news provider: "We are seeing steady monthly increases and predict Dubai will be ranked within the top five cities for 2011."
Last week, Abu Dhabi's tourism authority said that the emirate's hotels will accommodate ten per cent more guests in 2010 than they did last year.
