Hundreds of yoga lovers are set to roll out their mats in Dubai Internet City for the first ever Yoga Fest 2010. The free event on 21st December is being held to mark the combination of the ‘Winter Solstice,’ the shortest day of the year, and the full moon – a combined occurrence that will not happen again for another 84 years. The event will offer a total of 11 different types of yoga classes from 7am-8pm, out by the lake at DIC’s outdoor amphitheatre.
"This event held in the heart of the business sector aims to draw people out of their offices to experience the benefits of yoga such as reduced stress and improved attention span,” explains Elaine Kelly, event founder and Yoga Instructor. “Yoga has gained worldwide popularity and Dubai is no exception. Yoga Fest 2010 offers the perfect opportunity to experience yoga in its many forms at one beautiful location."
On 21st June this year, a similar event took place at New York's Time Square where thousands of yoga enthusiasts celebrated the longest day of the year with an all-day yoga fest. To be part of Dubai’s first ever Yoga Fest, log on to www.dic.ae/yogafest/ to register.
