Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has signed a new cooperation agreement with the UK-based Middlesex University Dubai.
The initiative is for DTCM to provide internship opportunities to Middlesex University Dubai students while at the same time allowing the department to identify, select and employ suitable candidates for the benefit of its staffing requirements.
Commenting on the agreement, Ibrahim Yaqoot, executive director of corporate support at DTCM, said he was glad to strengthen ties with Middlesex University Dubai, which he considered to be one of the best universities in the region.
"We are looking forward to having a sustainable relationship which helps the improvement of Dubai's tourism industry in all aspects," he added.
Middlesex University Dubai, which is celebrating its sixth year in the emirate, currently enrols over 1,700 students and has more than 1,000 graduates.
Last year, the UK's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education praised the "meticulous attention" given to the establishment, development and integration of the Dubai campus.
