Dubai's chamber of commerce and industry has set out its strategic objective for enhancing trade cooperation with emerging markets in Chile.
Chile will be the focus of the chamber's quarterly Country Focus Briefing on Tuesday February 9th. The initiative will bring together embassies and business councils to introduce new opportunities to Dubai's business community.
The chamber selected Chile because of its policies in supporting direct investment by foreigners. Chile is also the Dubai chamber's international operations headquarters for the Latin American region.
According to the chamber, a range of opportunities exist for UAE companies to invest in various Chilean economic sectors including ports, construction and public work projects as well as manufacturing, tourism and real estate.
Last month, Dubai Investments, the largest investment company listed on the Dubai Financial Market, announced a net profit of AED 963 million for 2009 which it said was pleasing and above expectations.
