The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has announced an increase in staffing in all areas of its airports to facilitate "the smooth flow of Formula 1-related traffic" ahead of this weekend's race at the Yas Island circuit.
ADAC said it had already welcomed a large number of passengers and cargo traffic during the past few days at Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport.
The company also claimed to have implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure full preparedness in all key areas of operations including loading, fuelling and aeroplane parking while also working with airside security, cargo and hospitality to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic during the event.
"We are excited to welcome the world to Abu Dhabi through our airports. Many of our staff along with members of 'Takatuf' have generously volunteered to work over the weekend to ensure we provide the best possible service and the warm Arabian hospitality we are known for throughout this busy weekend," said James Bennett, chief executive officer of ADAC.
