A range of new infrastructure projects will commence in Abu Dhabi this year.
According to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, Abu Dhabi City and its suburbs will be the focus of 26 new construction projects.
Speaking at the first municipal forum to be organised by the Municipal Affairs Department, Salma Al Junaibi, director of the Contracts and Tenders Department, said: "Sixteen of the new projects will be related to roads and infrastructure and ten to urban planning."
The flagship project will be the development of the commercial area at Khalifa City.
Meanwhile, the second phase of road construction at Mohammed bin Zayed City will get underway.
Recently, AME Info claimed that the Burj Khalifi, which is the world's tallest tower, will help boost the economy of Dubai.
He claimed the most significant impact the tower will have will be on the surrounding area, as it will boost property sales and prices following the master development.
