Millennium Hotels and Resorts has announced it will open Abu Dhabi's largest hotel next month.

The 850-room Grand Millennium Al Wahda is the company's second property and first Grand Millennium-branded establishment in Abu Dhabi.

In addition, the hotel features the largest health club in the city with a 2,700 sq m spa, swimming pool and a supersized gym.

The hotel, which is centrally located adjacent to the Al Wahda Shopping Mall and Al Wahda Sports Club, comprises 585 hotel rooms and 265 residences to make up the 850-room total.

Commenting on the opening, Millennium general manager Michael Sorgenfrey said: "The opening of the Grand Millennium Al Wahda signals a new era in hotel accommodation here in Abu Dhabi and we expect to raise the bar in terms of the guest experience.

"Quite apart from the sheer size of the hotel we will stand out in terms of our employees' contribution to the smooth running of the operation through their product knowledge and service standards."
