The Middle East's status as a "hub" between Europe and Asia grants it strong growth potential in the travel sector, it has been observed.
Wolfgang Bucherl, managing director for sales and marketing at Skysupply, a leading supplier of travel comfort items, was commenting on his company's promising prospects in the Middle East ahead of the International Travel Catering Exhibition (ITCA), which opens in Dubai on Sunday (October 31st).
The event, which brings to market new product launches designed for the in-flight, cruise and rail travel sector, is the only dedicated travel catering services exhibition for the MENA region and one of the largest events of its kind in the world, its organisers say.
Exhibitors at the three-day event are due to come from a wide range of countries including Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Turkey, the UK and the UAE.
"Dubai is the ideal location for this global industry to meet- it is the recognised business hub for the growth market of the Middle East with significant investment in regional airports and infrastructure for tourism and business," commented Helal Saeed Almarri, chief executive officer of Dubai World Trade Centre.
