A wide range of residential, leisure and entertainment projects were handed over to Dubailand investors last year.
Mohammed Al Habbai, chief executive of Dubailand, told Emirates Business 24/7 that despite the challenging global economic environment, 2009 was an exciting year for Dubailand with a number of important milestones for investors.
"This year, we have focused on developing inherent demand from within the UAE by building critical residential mass," he told the news provider.
He said that Dubailand now has exclusive pockets of residential communities such as the Arabian Ranches, MotorCity, Leyan Community, the Villa and Al Barari, making the destination an attractive place to live, work and play.
MotorCity alone saw over 1,300 residential, retail and commercial units handed over within the development last year. Other notable achievements include the opening of the Butch Harmon School of Golf at the Els Club in Dubai Sports City.
The Dubailand management has said that the launch of Royal Caribbean cruises from Dubai this month will serve to further increase visitor numbers and investment interest in the emirate.
