Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) as it looks to boost the training and educational opportunities of its employees.

According to the institutions, the MoU promotes the educational programmes offered by the university and presents opportunities for academic and postgraduate studies, plus various courses.

It was also confirmed that the MoU will offer a ten per cent rate reduction for all EIB employees and their families on all the programmes offered by the university.

Omar Al Gaizi, human resources and administration manager at EIB, commented: "This is highly productive for the bank as a whole as it adds to the bank's knowledge base as well as strengthening the bond between the bank and its employees."

Established in 1993 by the University of Wollongong in Australia, UOWD is one of the UAE's oldest and most prestigious universities.
