UAE-based office furniture giant BAFCO has opened a new headquarters in Dubai Industrial City (DIC) in a major expansion of its operations.
The office and manufacturing facility is expected to dramatically improve production output from 50,000 to 150,000 furniture units annually.
Khosrow Fattahi, BAFCO's managing director, said that he had selected DIC for its integrated services and facilities, in addition to its strategic location. This includes close proximity to the new Al Maktoum airport, Jebel Ali free zone and Abu Dhabi, allowing the firm to serve the UAE from one location.
Meanwhile, Rashid Al Ansari, vice president of DIC, added: "The company's decision to locate their factory in the destination reinforces our vision of providing the industrial sector with a cost competitive environment that is supported by world class business processes and a host of ancillary facilities and services."
At 560 million sq ft of land, DIC is the third largest non-real estate project in Dubai.
