Airberlin has confirmed that it will launch the first-ever nonstop flight service between Dubai and Berlin from next month.
The service by Germany's second-largest airline will start from November 4th, Arab News reported.
Commenting on the launch, Joachim Hunold, chief executive officer of airberlin, stated that Dubai is "an extremely important location" for the airline and one in which it sees strong potential for future growth.
Speaking at an event at the Armani Hotel in Dubai's Burj Khalifa tower, Mr Hunold added: "We are convinced that this flight connection will also contribute to further tightening and expanding the excellent relations between Germany and the emirate of Dubai."
The new long-haul service will operate from Dubai to Berlin three times a week.
News of the launch comes after flydubai, Dubai's first low cost airline, last week notched up its 24th destination after landing in Samara, Russia as part of its route expansion in the country.
