Dalma Mall, the largest shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, is preparing for a "soft opening" this weekend (October 10th).
Situated opposite Mohamad Bin Zayed City, the mall will, at full capacity, feature over 480 stores covering 147,000 sq m of retail space, its owner says.
Over 62 per cent of the mall's total retail space is already leased out and the other 35 per cent is under negotiation, with a number of selected retailers expected to open their doors to the public during the soft opening on Sunday.
The remaining tenants will move in upon completion of the design and fit-out of their respective stores.
"With over 480 retail stores and an impressive array of entertainment and dining facilities, Dalma Mall is set to become the shopping destination of choice for residents across the emirate of Abu Dhabi," said Mark Adams, general manager at the mall.
He added that the shopping centre is mainly targeted at the many new residential communities in Abu Dhabi "that are grossly under-serviced".
Among the stores due to open this weekend are major names like Carrefour, Home Center, Centrepoint and Matalan.
