A "trade mission" to the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern nations is to take place in the coming months with the intention of introducing new photovoltaic (PV) technologies to various regions.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TETDC) is set to lead 11 suppliers in the industry on the trip, which starts on October 30th and lasts until November 10th.
Dubai is one of the locations on the itinerary and will be where it is hoped "close business partnerships" will be formed.
According to TETDC, some ten per cent of the global supply of PV cells was provided by Taiwan last year and it is the fourth biggest solar cell producer worldwide.
"Taiwan holds a significant manufacturing advantage and offers excellent industry infrastructure," it added.
A trade meeting sessions lasting a whole day is due to take place in each of the cities visited.
The organisation is also planning a visit to the Middle East earlier in October to look at potential trade and investment prospects.
