In three months' time Dubai is to host a film festival and the line-up for the event has now been unveiled.
From December 9th to 16th over 12 themed segments - such as Gulf Voices, Cinema of AsiaAfrica and Arabian Nights - will include various shorts, documentaries and features.
Directors such as Hannah Fisher, Antonia Carver, Dorothee Wenner and Erfan Rashid are all scheduled to participate.
Artistic director of the Dubai International Film Festival Masoud Amralla Al Ali said the event was recognised globally for its high quality.
"This year, we are incorporating the festival's central theme of Culture Bridge in all programmes, instead of limiting these vital culture-bridging films to one section alone," he explained.
Some 47,500 visitors arrived in the emirate last year for the dates, which showed 179 films and 18 world premieres.
Five of the animated pictured created there in 2008 by students from the United Arab Emirates were chosen for an Australian film festival as well.
