A new agreement has been signed to help aid transport links across Dubai for one business and accommodation provider in the emirate.

The Public Transport Agency (PTA) and Roads & Transport Authority has confirmed a strategic agreement with the Kempinski Hotel Mall (KHM) has been struck to help develop a bus network to help local employees.

Signed by chief executive officer of the RTA Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari and general manager of KHM Holger Schroth, the deal could improve links and reduce traffic on Dubai's busiest roads.

Mr Al Dosari commented: "We will also offer advice on organising the parking space near work places in an effective manner that meets the requirements of companies and organizations and eases the traffic congestion in the locality."

Also this week, Gulf News reported the official opening of the Dubai Metro would take place on September 9th, but it would not be until the following day that the system would be made fully available to the public.
