In commercial property Dubai news, Movenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced it will create some 2,000 employment opportunities.

Work is underway to open five new facilities over the next year and the group is holding a jobs fair to fill the positions it has available.

The company will be looking for people to work as stewards, waiters, supervisors and assistants.

General and regional manager Thomas Tapken told Emirates Business that many individuals who have applied for the roles have "vital local experience and are familiar with the UAE".

"They're familiar with accommodation situations, they know how to get around the city, they understand the multicultural marketplace," he said.

Some of the facilities the company will open next year include the Royal Amwaj Resort & Spa on the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah and the Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel situated adjacent to the Ibn Battuta Mall.
