A commercial property in Dubai is due to host a contest next week to find the best baristas in the Middle East.
Costa Coffee's 2009 MENA International Barista of the Year competition will be held at the Qamardeen Hotel in Downtown Burj Dubai.
A panel of select judges will mark the beverage-making skills of participants from a number of locations including the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and Qatar.
Operational skills and brand standards manager of the region's division of the coffee chain Roisin Caush spoke to Middle East Hotelier about the event.
She explained the company prides itself on the quality of service its staff provides its customers.
"Costa's Barista of the Year competition is formal recognition of the hard work and talent of all our baristas working in our stores and a great opportunity to celebrate the passion that sits at the heart of our business," asserted Ms Caush.
The coffee chain was established in London in 1971.
