Students who usually live in property in Dubai have jetted off to the UK as part of an educational and cultural tour.
Pupils from the British University in Dubai (BUiD) who are studying masters degrees in education visited England's capital as part of a trip hosted by the University of East London.
They learned about the culture and history of the area, how the location is preparing for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games and visited a local school that will open in October.
BUiD lecturer Dr Naz Awan explained there can be many advantages for students to visit other countries as part of their degree.
"They can gain further knowledge through cultural and educational exchange, while meeting with other students and professors," he said.
Aamna Al Mansoori is training to be an IT teacher and noted the trip to London gave the pupils an insight into the educational system in the English capital.
Established in 2004, BUiS is the Middle East's first research-based postgraduate university.
