Mirdif City Centre has announced the sale of its single largest retail unit, with the company handing over 25,000 square metres of spaces to Majid Al Futtaim Leisure, owner of Ski Dubai.
Equivalent to 96 tennis courts, the retail area accounts for 12 per cent of the mall's total gross leasable space. In keeping with Mirdif's commitment to community cohesion, the new retail centre will offer sports and entertainment products for people of all ages and interests.
Once open, the centre may be an ideal place to stock up on the latest gadgets and sports equipment for those with new property in Dubai.
Commenting on the new lease, Yousif Al Ali, vice-president of Mirdif City Centre, said: "Delivering the entire unit at one time is an achievement for us and plays a pivotal role to ensure a timely opening."
Earlier this year, Richard Reid, senior vice-president for development at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, owner of Mirdif, announced that lettings were continuing to grow strongly in 2009, ahead of its grand opening early next year.
