Emirates providing support for SMEs

Emirates Airlines is celebrating the first anniversary of the Business Rewards scheme with a promotion for new small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers.

Companies registering with the scheme before September 30th will be offered 5,000 free bonus air miles, helping to keep travel costs down across the Emirates network of more than 100 destinations in six countries.

"A large number of our members are based in Dubai and, as a company committed to the development of Dubai, Emirates recognises the role these firms played in its remarkable growth," said Russell Sheldon, senior vice-president of network passenger sales development at Emirates.

This support may make Emirates an attractive carrier for companies that hold commercial property in Dubai.

Emirates Airline attributes the success of the Business Rewards scheme to its innovative approach to awarding air miles, with employees able to rack up air miles both individually and for the whole company.

In the latest step in its expansion campaign, Emirates has announced plans to increase its presence in west Asia with new routes to Male and Colombo.
