University Hospital, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), has taken home a top honour at the Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition and Congress awards.
At the inaugural awards ceremony held in Dubai, the building received the Best Hospital Design of the Future award, recognising its excellence in design, management and quality of healthcare facilities.
Jim Kingsbury, chief executive officer of University Hospital, said that the award is cognizant of the hospital's devotion to new standards of excellence in clinical care, educational resources and research programmes.
"The 400-bed tertiary medical centre will offer centers of excellence in oncology, neurosciences, musculoskeletal medicine and orthopedics, women's health, cardiovascular and thoracic services and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic disease," he added.
As part of its commitment to preventative care, DHCC has recently concluded its 30-day Quit and Win campaign, a community-wide initiative designed to encourage and support to help Emiratis quit smoking.
