His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, has expressed his confidence in achieving goals set out in his 2006-2015 framework for development in Dubai.
In a national address, the ruler explained that while the plan was being scrutinised closely, many of its objectives were moving ahead on time.
He went on to state that there have been many encouraging signs of economic growth in recent months and explained that Dubai was continuing to build upon the rapid progress made in the early years of the current plan, when many projects were finished ahead of schedule.
"Our financial system is efficient and our infrastructure is developed to the highest international standards [...] Our accomplishments within the past ten years would take decades to accomplish by other economies," he said.
His comments came during the first e-session with the UAE public, where he also outlined plans to encourage Emiratis to purchase Dubai property for sale.
