The first ever Flydubai sale has been a roaring success, the organisers insist.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer of the UAE's first budget airline, said that the company had been surprised and pleased by the success of the sale, with more than 6,000 seats on Flydubai planes booked in just 24 hours.
"What is particularly pleasing is that so far we are seeing a very even split between the sectors that are being booked, with 44 per cent of all bookings being for flights coming in to Dubai," he added.
The sale may make Flydubai an attractive carrier for those who are visiting the emirate in search of Dubai property for sale.
Mr Al Ghaith added that the company has also been encouraged by figures showing that there has also been a marked increase in the number of non-sale tickets, suggesting that customers have been drawn to the low standard fares offered by the company.
The sale was announced on June 20th, with all destinations except Aleppo involved in the promotion.
