The number of travellers passing through Dubai International rose considerably in April, the latest figures show.
According to the airport, which is the sixth busiest in the world, passenger numbers rose a steady 6.5 per cent over the course of the month, following on from an impressive first quarter of the year.
Dubai International is home to Emirates Airline and is used by millions of business and leisure travellers every month.
In April, some 3,271,435 people passed through its gates, up from 3,073,479 in the same month in 2008.
"The latest figures are very encouraging, and considering that the travel season is yet to peak, we are very positive that the second quarter will show better results," commented the airport's chief executive officer David Griffiths.
Those planning to buy property in Dubai may wish to book flights to the airport in order to get a feel for the emirate before purchasing.
