The market for health and wellness products and services in the UAE will grow to AED44 billion by 2015, one expert has claimed.
Speaking ahead of the Wellness and Spa Middle East exhibition, event organiser Elisabeth Brehl, managing director of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said that the aging population of baby boomers and the ever-increasing stresses of modern life are fuelling rapid growth in the wellness market.
"Personal wellness is starting to become a lifestyle trend as people seek relaxation and a respite from the pressures of daily life and activities that cultivate physical, spiritual and mental well being are becoming important to many people," she said.
She added that the opportunity to escape the busy, crowded confines of everyday modern living is becoming increasingly valuable.
Earlier this week, Beautyworld Middle East announced the launch of the Orchid Beauty Awards, which celebrate the UAE's superior spas and hair, grooming, beauty and nail salons.
