The Dubai International Advertising Festival, incorporating the third Dubai Lynx Awards, has today (March 10th) announced that it has received a record number of entries for the coveted awards.
For the 2009 competition, some 2079 entries from 165 companies operating in 18 countries will be vying for a trophy, an increase of three per cent on last year.
Steve Lane, Dubai Lynx Festival director, said that the rising entry numbers is testament to the strength of the advertising sector in Dubai and the UAE.
"After only three years since the launch of the Dubai Lynx Awards, a Lynx trophy is the most coveted prize to win and the festival the premier industry event to attend in the region," he added.
For those who are planning on viewing this year's entries, they will be on display at the Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre throughout the Dubai International Advertising Festival, with the winners due to be announced at the prestigious ceremony on March 17th.
Dubai Lynx has recently named Tanvir Kanji, head of communications and PR firm Inca Tanvir, its Advertising Person of the Year.
