The luxury yacht industry is enjoying healthy growth in UAE markets as buyers in the region look for the ultimate in prestige and style, one industry expert tells Emirate Business.
Lea Badro, business development director of Greenline Yacht Interiors, told the journal that the company is particularly proud of its part in a current project to build the world's largest yacht.
His comments came ahead of the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show 2009 which will get underway in the capital later this month, following on from the Dubai International Boat Show in February.
"Our most notable project to date is a super yacht that is more than 150 metres and will be the largest privately owned super yacht in the world once it is completed," he enthused.
And while Mr Badro would not be drawn on the finer details of the project, it is believed to have been commissioned by a Russian businessman and built by Blohm + Voss.
Those who are looking for a new toy to complement their UAE property may want to head down to the boat show when it opens on March 24th.
