Flydubai is making the final preparations for its inaugural flight in mid-2009 and has now selected the pilots who will be captaining its fleet.
The new low-cost airline has spent the last three months trawling through more than 11,500 applications for pilot and cabin crew positions and has now finished hand-picking its entire workforce.
A highly skilled group of pilots and crew are now undergoing intensive training to ensure that the service is launched with the very highest in safety standards in place.
Kenneth Gile, Flydubai's chief operating officer, said the company is extremely proud of the pilots it has selected.
"On average, they each have more than 4,000 hours serving as captain in similar aircraft and a total experience of more than 8,000 flying hours," he said.
Flydubai may be an attractive option for those who are considering flying to the emirate to look for property for sale in Dubai.
The company will be operating from Terminal 2 of Dubai International when it launches later in the year.
