Microsoft is set to revolutionise touch-screen technology with the new computers, which use multi-point technology to allow users to physically interact with documents, photos and videos.
Neetan Chopra, vice-president of IT strategy and architecture at Emirates, said the company has always looked to position itself at the forefront of technological innovation.
"We have invested heavily to ensure our passengers have access to the latest technologies for entertainment and for keeping in touch with their offices or loved ones while travelling," he added.
At the technology tradeshow CeBIT, Microsoft confirmed that it will soon make the Surface technology available in key markets including the UAE, UK, Spain and Qatar.
