Dubai Maritime City hosts Singapore delegation

A delegation of representatives from Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority were recently entertained by Dubai Maritime City.

The two shipping operators collaborated to address ways in which they might better serve the companies which look to them as a basis for their activities.

Each looks to attract "a core group of ship owners and operators to set up operations in their markets", Dubai Maritime City explains.

By meeting recently, representatives of both were able to discuss the potential for collaboration in order to meet this goal.

And doing so could have knock-on effects for investors in commercial property in Dubai.

Dubai Maritime City recently revealed that it witnessed growth of almost a third (31 per cent) in the number of new maritime businesses registering to trade in 2008 when compared with the previous year.

Chief executive officer Amer Ali said: "This is a clear indication of the growing importance of the maritime sector within Dubai and the region."ADNFCR-2019-ID-19066894-ADNFCR
