A well known bank has sponsored a water saving campaign which is likely to be on the radar of those with a property in the UAE.
Entitled the Heroes of the UAE school programme, the initiative will seek to raise children's awareness and encourage action towards sustainability and combating climate change.
Participating schools in the region will be in competition with one another to save both water and electricity which will in turn reduce their carbon footprint, organised by Emirates Wildlife Society - WWF.
Kaltham Al Koheji, regional head of corporate sustainability at HSBC Bank Middle East, said: "HSBC has a long partnership with EWS-WWF going back to 2006 when it joined forces to help establish Wadi Wurayah as the UAE's first mountain protected area."
The representative added that HSBC was excited to be able to further its support to assist in the educating of children about sustainability and climate change by sponsoring Heroes of the UAE.
An online resource entitled Tackling Global Warming will form part of the yearly Interactive Enviro-spellation programme.
HSBC encourages its customers to go green in other ways too, one of which is by switching from paper to e-tatements.
