One such company is Jacky's Electronics, which saw a 20 per cent year-on-year rise in sales in 2008, while footfall increased 30 per cent.
Jimmy Patel, general manager of Jacky's Electronics, has told Gulf News that he is confident that he will have the support of landlords while looking for retail space to boost the company's presence in the UAE and help it to satisfy strong customer demand.
"The growing culture of malls brings the demand for retailers to be present in key locations and so strategically, we will push through with our expansion plan," he added.
Last week, Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing reported that hotels throughout the emirate have seen a sharp increase in occupancy rates since the start of the Dubai Shopping Festival got underway earlier this month.
