UAE leads with export diversity
In news that may be of interest to those who are considering buying property in Dubai or pursuing other investment opportunities in the UAE, new figures indicate that the emirates are leading the way in diversifying their export base.

According to the newly released publication International Trade Statistics 2008 from the World Trade Organisation, the UAE has strengthened its position as a global player in the oil export market and is the fourth largest crude producer in the world, behind the EU, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

However, the report also finds that the UAE has proved adept at expanding its non-oil export operations and has both increased the percentage of non-oil products leaving UAE ports, but has also decreased its reliance on oil as the major contributor to gross domestic product.

The World Trade Organisation's international trade report for 2007 showed that overall, global trade grew six per cent over the year, exceeding original estimates of 5.5 per cent.ADNFCR-2019-ID-19018530-ADNFCR
