The curtain comes up on the Palladium

The curtain is about to come up on one of the region's most eagerly anticipated events venues as the finishing touches are applied to the Palladium in Dubai Media City.

Envisioned as a premier entertainment venue that will be equally suited to events ranging from rock concerts to rare exhibitions, the Palladium has been built at a cost of some AED220 million and will be holding its soft opening in March 2009.

"We already have a lot of interest from international promoters about bringing in Broadway and West End London plays and musicals as well as everything from circuses to ballet," says the man behind the vision Raymond Gaspar.

The addition of such an all-encompassing events venue may well tip the balance for those who are considering buying property in Dubai.

And those who visit the Palladium when it opens have been urged to rest assured that hospitality will be at the top of the agenda, furthering Mr Gaspar's insistence that it will be the "the sparkling new benchmark for excellence".
