The Superyacht pavilion has opened to the public at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS).
Set to be a major draw for the region's elite sailing fraternity, the pavilion will be located in the Luxury Supplies and Services section and will build on the popularity of luxury liners among Middle Eastern investors.
Research from the Luxury Institute has shown that sales of yachts over 130 feet soared 20 per cent over the course of last year, with Arabs representing a third of the total market for the prestigious vessels.
And it looks as though sales may continue to grow at the DIBS this year, as a 15 per cent increase in the number of vessels set to go on display was recorded prior to the event.
"This year, we plan to introduce our most exclusive range of superyachts, inform our guest about the recent developments in our company and we look forward to a strong response," said Fabio Ermetto, commercial director at Heesen Yachts.
