The second of three independent power supplies for the Dubai Metro system has been energised, it has emerged.
In news that may be of interest to those who own property in Dubai, the wholly unmanned terminal will provide power for the Green Line network, with final testing currently being undertaken.
"The design of the Dubai Metro power network is very robust and reliable. In the unlikely event of total failure of any one [supply], the metro operations will not be affected on the entire rail network," commented Adnan Al Hammadi, rail construction director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
He added that braking technologies also allow the Dubai Metro system to operate with strong energy efficiencies.
The news follows an announcement from the RTA yesterday (January 8th) in which it confirmed that it would meet with key players offering Dubai property for sale at waterside developments to ensure that maritime mass transit systems are managed effectively.
