The date of the opening of Dubai Sports City is drawing closer, with a number or world-class competitions due to be staged in the first half of 2009.
Once opened, the Dh14.7 billion project will offer five major sports stadiums and a training academy campus, in addition to 50 million sq ft of commercial and residential property in Dubai.
Speaking to Emirates Business 24/7, Jeff O'Brien, academies manager at Dubai Sports City, said that the academies will be able to offer an unbeatable level of commitment to the personal development of Emirati athletes.
"The key is the integration of the coaching services and programmes with the latest in video and digital technology for technique evaluation, strength and conditioning, sports science and sports medicine service," he said.
