Fortune eyes contractor for Burj Al Alam
Fortune has announced that it expects to settle on a preferred contractor for the Burj Al Alam complex within a month.

The 510-metre tower will be the second tallest building in the emirate and will offer a host of luxury Dubai property for sale once it is completed.

According to, the company said that it has agreed on a number of shortlisted candidates for the $789 million (£527 million) project and expects to reach a final decision by the end of the month.

"Right now, the Middle East Foundations Group is carrying out the shoring and piling works, following which we will be able to finalise the main construction contract for the project," said Syed Mohammad Ali, Fortune Group's founder and chief executive, speaking to Gulf News earlier this month.
