The company will also increase seat capacity by 14 per cent and increase the frequency of many of its services.

"We will concentrate on strengthening our presence on routes where there is a greater demand from our customers. All of our new capacity will be deployed in markets where we see growth potential," explained Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum.
He added that Emirates sees a lot of potential for growth in 2009 and will be nurturing business in the Middle East and Africa in particular.
The company also recently launched a new online search tool on its website to help customers scan the cheapest available flights.
