The British University in Dubai (BUiD) is to relocate its campus from its present home in Knowledge Village to the Dubai International Academic City.
BUiD said the move would be completed by the end of January and that classes for the next semester beginning in February would be held at the new location.
The research-based postgraduate university will seek to expand its activities at the new site. The BUiD mission statement is to make a distinctive British contribution to the higher educational system in the United Arab Emirates through the creation of high quality research programmes and interaction with regional industry.
"Our focus is the provision of world-class education, establishing Dubai as a regional hub for advanced learning and research," said university vice president Dr Abdullah M Alshamsi.
The Dubai International Academic City is an appropriate home for such aspirations. The site covers an area of 25 million square feet and includes 32 international universities of higher learning from a wide range of regions including USA, Australia, India, Pakistan, and Russia.
