Haiyan Mujarkech, chief executive of the group, told Gulf News that another 175,000 sq ft of floor space will be made available at Bay Avenue, which will span two floors and house 177 outlets.
He added that the decision to open up the new shops was made as a result of the soaring visitor numbers seen in recent years during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
"We were starting to be concerned about how many people were coming to the location due to traffic jams and long waits for parking," he said.
Among the most popular tourist attractions this year has been the prestigious The Walk development at the Jumeirah Beach residence, which houses some 305 retailers in 350 shops.
Details of the luxury development were first unveiled at the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres in 2004.
