Dubai Lifestyle City (DLC) is set to be complete by the end of 2011 or the first quarter of 2012, Gulf News reports.
The project's network infrastructure has now been completed including road networks, telecommunication, surface water drainage and street lighting.
Raza Seddiqi, executive director of DLC, said the development will "promote a unique concept of haute living that encompasses nearly everything in terms of luxuries, digital facilities, sports training and recreational opportunities, word-class hotels, fashion, art, theatre and shopping".
The development is being executed by ETA Star Group and will feature 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 villettes or apartments, all conceived by Beverley Hills designer Tony Ashai.
Partners with DLC include JW Marriott Hotel, which is developing its first JW Marriott branded residential properties in addition to three separate hotels to cater to visitors of the city. Multi-sport conglomerate IMG Academies will also open its first ever branches outside the US in DLC including the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and the David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
Mohammed Al Habbai, senior vice president at Dubailand, recently welcomed DLC as a unique project in Dubailand that offers "unmatched luxury" within a gated community.
