Dubai and Brazil strengthen tourism ties

Officials from Dubai and Brazil have come together to discuss exciting new tourism opportunities.

At a meeting hosted by Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the organisation's director general Khalid A bin Sulayem, held negotiations with Luiz Henrique da Silveira, governor of the southern state of Santa Catarina.

The Brazilian statesman headed up a delegation of top officials from the South American country, while executives from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) were also in attendance.

Meanwhile, Jean-Claude Baumgarten, president and chief executive of the WTTC, stressed the benefits of pursuing strong private-public partnerships to nurture tourism growth.

The DTCM also recently held high-level meetings with a Chinese delegation to discuss tourism growth between the two countries.
