Demand for warehouses remains strong

The demand for warehouses for commercial and residential use is continuing to outstrip supply in Dubai, it has been claimed.

Omar Al Mesmar, general manager of Dubai Investment Parks (DIP) has told Emirates Business that there is also a strong demand for worker accommodation in the emirate, in news that may be of interest to those considering Dubai property investment.

"There have been huge numbers of enquiries even for subleases. But the DIP is not only for industrial purposes, it is also for residential, commercial and community purposes," he told the news resource.

As such, Dubai Industrial City recently announced plans to double its storage facilities by the end of the year in order to meet.

In other recent developments, Gulf News has reported that developers in Ras Al Khaimah will commit to the development of more hotel accommodation in 2009 in order to meet continued high demand in the emirate.
