In addition, the new BMW Gran Turismo, BMW X1 and the BMW M1 Homage concept vehicle all made their Middle East debuts at the Dubai show.
The ActiveHybrid models mark the second phase in BMW's sustainable mobility strategy. The firm has committed itself to building carbon friendly cars that remain stylish and high performing, with a pledge to reduce CO2 emissions on all of its products by at least 25 per cent by 2020.
The Dubai show witnessed the unveiling of the ActiveHybrid X6 and ActiveHybrid 7 – models which integrate the latest electric and petrol engine technologies to further reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Held once every two years, the Dubai International Motor Show is the single largest international automotive event in the Middle East.
"With a complete representation of automotive sectors under one roof and dedicated showcasing areas for vehicle manufacturers as well as the aftermarket, the Dubai International Motor Show provides automotive professionals the perfect platform to present their product and set up new marketing networks targeting over two billion consumers," say the show organisers.
