Those with a property in Dubai may be interested to learn that the first ICC Global Cricket Academy (GCA) batting camp has just been completed.
Another camp has been planned for the start of 2010 in Dubai Sports City, following on from the success in Pretoria when it was completed by leading Associate Nations batsmen.
It was aimed at assessment, basic skill development and setting up an ongoing programme for all 18 participating players on the ten day scheme.
They will be overseen throughout next year by the ICC GCA and the HPP member coaches up until the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Rod Marsh, director of coaching at the ICC, said: "The ICC GCA is focused on delivering high-quality training and fitness programmes that will allow cricket groups – from players and coaches to umpires, curators, and administrators – to develop their skills and expertise in a range of disciplines."
Twelve teams took part in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in South Africa from April 1st to 19th, progressing onto the Super Eight stage, then moving onto a full round-robin with ranking play-offs deciding the final event placings.
