Those looking into a commercial property in Dubai may be interested to learn that Abu Dhabi is said to be experiencing a surge of business from the UK.
Both Abu Dhabi's Crowne Plaza and the Shangri-la Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri have both reported a rise in UK interest.
Levent Tekun, director of sales and marketing at the Shangri-la Hotel, commented on recent bookings at the establishment.
He said one driving factor for success had been the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which has given a certain amount of credibility to the region.
Mr Tekun added: "We found the level of enquiries is of a much higher quality than last year. The interest has been mainly from the UK."
He said that the UK outbound business appears to be recovering after a period of tapering off towards the start of the year.
According to the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, the emirate had 112,173 UK hotel guests last year. For the first nine months of this year it has been visited by 70,322.
The Shangri-La Hotel includes six private villas and 161 fully furnished residences.
